About Us
Our beginning. In 1984, God moved Pastor Hank Thompson
to start Capitol City Baptist Church in the heart of Austin, Texas. The
church established a permanent residence in 1985 at 1300 Redd Street
where the church is presently located. Dr. Hank Thompson pastored
the church for the next twenty-five years until his passing on January
25, 2009. It was at that time that Adam Thompson, Hank's oldest son,
accepted the pastorate of Capitol City Baptist Church. Pastor Adam,
together with his wife Kim and their three children, spent fifteen years
as missionaries in the countries of Argentina and Mexico. Today, under the leadership of Pastor Adam, the Capitol City Baptist Church continues to grow in unity, to mature spritually, and to reach the world with the Gospel of Christ. Our never-ending mission is to see people saved and discipled both locally and globally through personal evangelism and world-wide missions.
Who we are. Simply put, we are an independent, fundamental Baptist church consumed with reaching the unsaved people of the world with the saving knowledge of Christ, including our own nation, state, city, and county. We believe in discipling both the new convert and those Christians who desire to grow. We uphold Biblical standards of dress, music, and separation from worldliness. We believe in old-fashioned, King James Bible preaching that magnifies the Lord Jesus Christ, convicts men of sin, and edifies the saved. Ministries here. We are a growing church of born-again
believers endeavoring to reach the lost, edify the members, and train
future generations both to spread the gospel and to maintain our
great heritage of fundamentalism. We are a diverse church engaging
a vast ethnical community of people. Ministering to our community for
over 25 years has led to the initiation of an assortment of ministries.

Most importantly. Life is full of decision-making matters. Everyday we face nearly dozens of crossroads in our life that may affect not only our own selves but also our families. There are those decisions that might not have been the best choice such as buying a home in the wrong neighborhood or buying a lemon of a vehicle. However, many of these choices are reversable or repairable with time. Then, there are decisions that are long-lasting, permanent or even detrimental for life if the wrong choice is made. The most important decision or question to ask yourself in this life is "where will I be for eternity". The Bible is clear about the matter. Do you know the answer? Do you know your options? Time is short. Eternity never ends. A decision must be made before your time expires on this earth. We cannot afford nor do we really want to pay the price for a wrong decision when speaking on the subject of your own soul and your eternal destination. Please

Reaching the World from Austin. We strongly
believe in supporting missionaries around
the globe with the sole purpose of reaching
the unsaved with the Gospel of Christ,
discipling converts and establishing local, New Testament churches. Pastor Adam Thompson and his family have personally helped establish local and indigenous churches in Argentina and in Mexico over a span of 15 years. After accepting the pastorate here at CCBC in 2009, he and his family have helped kindle the flame of foreign missions even stronger in the hearts of the members at Capitol City Baptist Church. It is our pledge to carry the Light of the Gospel from the heart of Texas around the world. We believe we have a mission to share the story of God's redemption at Calvary with every nation!
