We believe that if
a young person is
called to train for
the ministry, gain-
ing practical exper-
ience is essential.
All students are required to work in a ministry every semester. The various church ministries in which they can serve include Sunday School, Junior Church, Master's Clubs, the Christian School, music ministries, personal evangelism, street preaching, nursing home and the prison ministry. Assisting the widows and widowers, and church work days also help prepare students for practical service.
Capitol City Baptist College is a four year college. Students at CCBC are offered classes to provide them with a thorough understanding of the Word of God and how it applies to their lives. Emphasis is placed on equipping young people with practical knowledge to serve the Lord in any capacity, whether on the mission field or in a local church. It is our desire to teach them our Baptist heritage and the importance of upholding that heritage in this generation. We want to produce a generation of zealous Christians who are balanced, well trained, and fully committed to serving the Lord.
Our founder, Dr. Hank Thompson, envisioned a college where young people could receive leadership training, strengthen their personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and train to work in the ministry. Whether they are called to full-time service or simply desire to be better servants in their local church, Capitol City Baptist College will equip them to meet today's challenges. Currently, his vision continues under the leadership of his oldest son, Pastor Adam Thompson. It is Pastor Adam's vision that students reach their potential for serving the Lord and acquire a true compassion for reaching the lost.

Capitol City Baptist Church adheres to conservative music standards, following the admonition of Ephesians 5:19, by emphasizing hymns and spiritual songs. The students will receive specialized instruction through various musical clinics. They will be given the opportunity to minister to our congregation in college choir and special music groups.
Young men are given ample opportunities to preach in Sunday School, church services, and Christian school chapel services. They will also preach on the streets, at soul-winning meetings, and in our nursing home and jail ministries.
Pastor Adam Thompson, who was a
missionary for fifteen years in Argentina and
Mexico, has an intense passion for world-wide
missions. He preaches and teaches the
importance of being involved in missions, not only financially and prayerfully, but also personally. The students are given various opportunities throughout the year to join the Pastor on missions trips and at missions conferences to gain firsthand experience in missions.
